A little bit about me and Eurovision

Hello again. Well what can I tell you? I’m a musician and instrumental teacher. I’m getting married this year (exciting). I love reading, playing and listening to music, walking my crazy woof woof and watching movies.

So why am I blogging? I’m hoping to put up some thoughts and experiences of teaching and performing. I think I will also talk a bit about my hobbies and books I have been reading etc. So a bit of mix, but hey I don’t want to bore people so I think a mix is good.

At this moment I’m sat on a comfy sofa watching the Eurovision Song Contest wondering what has happened to the competition? When I was little I never missed Eurovision, in fact I still don’t miss it. However it really isn’t as much fun as it used to be. Where are the foreign languages? Where are the individual acts? They are beginning to all look the same to me, and by that I mean they look like mainstream American influenced performances. I’m really sad about this I used to love wondering what extravagant costume or performance was coming up next, but this year the most exciting part was when the man dressed as a gorilla was dancing during Italy’s performance and whether the man with a horses head was going to fall off the ladder during Azerbaijan’s performance. Anyway maybe this is just me getting old?

And on a final note how did the saxophone player in Moldova’s performance not knock out his teeth with all that dancing whilst pretending to play? I couldn’t do that playing the saxophone for real or pretending.

Goodnight and happy Eurovision!
